The float valve on my pull the float and causes a slow leak.?
I have a year of low volume Kohler two piece toilet 5 (I think it Wellworth one?) A leak started in the bowl, so that the reservoir will drain in about 10 minutes after filling. I changed the valve with a valve designed by Fluidmaster for my Kohler toilet. I still had the problem. I cleaned the valve and the seat, there is a leak. I removed the float and the valve seals properly and now the leak has stopped, however, I now hold the flush lever on for about five seconds to empty bowl. If I do not hold, then the valve closes immediately and the chase is incomplete. It seems that the buoyancy of the float pulls the valve enough to cause the slow leak. SUGGESTIONS ON EVERYTHING I do?
Kohler Wellworth toilets I have 3 in my house, and had to replace the valve after a certain time. I replaced by a brand Korky flush valve ball that replaces # 58BP Kohler # 49 144. It was purchased from Lowes. You do not need to be a plumber to fix this. Be sure you use one specific. I tried others and they do not work. In fact, I want one of these in my hand right now. I learned to keep a spare in the house!
