Few tips on those q’s.
Keep in mind your time has value. Assign yourself a fair hourly wage and track how much time it takes to make something. Include the cost of your time in the cost of the piece. Materials cost are not your only cost. Keep in mind if you plan to keep the jewelery cheap, you can choose not to do this but youhave to factor it in when you think if its worth it.
What do people look for in custom jewelery. Well, thats as individual as the person itself. Listen to your customers needs and do what they want not what you want. Also, if yuo cant do something be honest.
Competitive advantage would be lower overhead (if you are home you dont have to factor rent in your costs) and also the ability to do waht I said above – listen to the customer.
