Various Usages Of Motion Detectors Provided By Surveillance Software
Motion detector is one of the most important parts of many home security systems. With various systems available today there are different types of motion detectors, from the ones that detect infrared radiation to the ones which are equipped with photo sensor that produce a beam of light.
Normally, motion detector is an integral part of an alarm system. It will activate alarm system whenever it detects an access violation. Nowadays, motion detector is also used in video surveillance technology for some reasons. If you use your PC to perform remote monitoring and surveillance, the detection can be done on a software level. In this case the surveillance software installed on your PC will analyze any incoming video stream and then will start the recording process if a motion is detected.
Turning a PC into a home surveillance system can be accomplished easily. Just download and install a good surveillance software on your PC and then follow the procedure to make use its detection system. With Webcam Looker, for instance, you only need to accomplish some simple steps. First, select the state of a source to choose the “Use Motion Detector” option and then click the “Detector Settings” button. Next, determine the areas that you want to detect followed by setting up the sensitivity level and alarm delay. And then you are free to set what kind of action you want the software to perform in case it detects any movement.
Besides to catch any illegal activities inside or outside your home, there are actually various ways in utilizing a surveillance software with motion motion detector. For instance, you can put a video camera near a front door so that you will always be kept informed whenever your customer or guest is walking through the door.
Another usage of motion detection system is to keep an eye on your baby. This way it will alert you in case your baby is trying to leave his or her room. It has two main purposes, to alert you and to greatly economizes the free disk space as compared with the continuous recording mode, especially if you want to record video clips.
