Inch Tarp

Where would be the best place to put the port on my subwoofer?
I have two 12s in a 10h x 20w x 17 d box. My subs are facing straight up. I have a jeep cherokee and it has a cargo tarp just inches above the subs… Would it be best to make my ports face up (towards the tarp like the subs) or back towards the liftgate?
well does your box allready have a port or are you planning on cutting one in???? if it does have one face it up with the subs facing twords the rear! If it doesnt & your plannin on making a port make sure you do it correctly the port should be atleast 3 inch X 3 inch & up and go almost to the bottom of your box about 2 to 3 inch’s from the bottom
