If a bearded dragons growth is stunted, is that reversible?
A bearded dragon was givin to me, in a ten gallon tank. I know this tank is too small! He is @nine months old, and he is ten inches long. When I get him his bigger cage, can he begin to reach the size he is suppose to be? I just hope that his growth being stunted, can be reversible! What do you think?
It depends on how severe the stunting is, what his diet has been like up to now, how much UV light he’s recieved, and a few other factors.
Basically, what’s his condition?
Is he starving?
Does he have parasites?
Does he have MBD? (metabolic bone disease) If so, how severe?
I recommend a trip to the vet just to get an idea of his general condition, and the best way to go about re-habbing him.
Good food, medicine if he needs it, and space is what he needs, and time will tell.
It sounds like he’s better off, so as long as he’s comfortable and fed, chances are, he’ll be a happy dragon for the rest of his years, even if he winds up on the small side.
