Product Review – Craft Triangle Mosaic Grout

In a recent project, I have tried a new product slurry. The project – a large version of a koi fish – is now swimming in my backyard. The piece is about 30 inches wide at end-end and about three feet long. I used glass tiles in three colors with three shades of coordinating grout to maintain continuity in the room. After grout used this product in a big way, I would pass on the advantages and disadvantages of working with her.
PRODUCT SUMMARY INSTRUCTIONS /
This grout is used on glass / ceramic and is recommended for projects with interior lines of grout up to 1/8-inch wide. Package instructions say that you should apply the grout after your adhesive is set, wait 20-30 minutes wipe off excess, let dry, then buff the surface to remove any residue. Triangle Crafts Mosaic Grout cleaned with water and is available in 8 or 32 oz.
NOTE: The situation of use of this product was slightly different for me because my room had the roundness to it, while tiles fit curves, the real differences between the tiles were sometimes larger than 1 / 8 inch. Due to the form of a pane of glass, sloping back to the bottom, I feel the difference that the grout needs to be filled and the grip is inherently superior to 1 / 8 thumb anyway. In the case of curves, this gap will be larger.
LESSONS FROM USE actual product
I tried to follow the instructions fully at first, but as an artist who creates new types of rooms all the time, you know as well as I you often have to improvise and do what works for you … and workpiece. Keep in mind that I was working in areas that were two to three inches wide by six to eight inches long at a time. Keep in mind that, because of the curved shape of this piece, I found I could not productively use a grout float normally. In fact, I was not able to use it at all. It was a big one, but a regular size float seemed awkward and unnecessary. (I wish someone invented a rubber float for small pieces of art that you can to get into odd shapes / niches!) Try to be as accurate as possible with the product, I used my sponge grout, which worked well.
I found that the application of the product and wait 20-30 minutes for many more work at the next step (wipe off excess). Doing things this way, the grout dry quickly, stick to the tops of the tiles and do not wipe. I had to use a knife to smooth and scrape off grout off the tile. I learned that it was preferable to implement it quickly, cramming the lines well and wipe with a damp sponge when I was done with every corner. He has not seem to pull out of grout lines, and made for a much cleaner surface. All I had to do was therefore to wait 10-15 minutes a set of more difficult as the slurry and pass it once or twice with a clean sponge. Grinding has been postponed.
The next day, after set well, I notice cracks and pockmarks here and there with this product, I stayed to go over the entire piece, patching a little here and there, to ensure sealing and complete coverage of the product. I ended up using more than expected during the initial grout joints and used more for alterations.
I made this piece of fish to the outside, even if the company declares its grout is for indoor use. My plan is to develop and out of time in winter, even if we have relatively mild winters. The other seasons are no different from a bathroom environment.
RECOMMENDATIONS
>> Work in small parcels for efficiency and ease of use with the product.
>> Also on the more grout you plan for any project.
>> Review your room twice, double checking for cracks and scars.
PROS
>> Point the tube on the request of eight ounces aid size control for the majority of products in the grout lines.
>> Packaging on the size of eight ounces is easy to handle and can be rolled up like a tube of toothpaste because it is used.
>> Package sizes are good for art projects that tend to be smaller. They store easily.
size>> smaller package and seals, save the remains of a another project.
>> Water purification.
>> Wide range of colors!
> Pre-mixed> with a consistency very pleasant to work with.
CONS
>> Dries quickly if you need to work in small areas and prevent large quantities to dry on the tile surface.
>> Frequency of cracks and scars.
> Packaging 32 oz jar is tall and thin, making it difficult to reach the product. A shorter, wider mouth would be better package.
REVIEW THIS PRODUCT
I would purchase and use of this new product. The results were very good, and the extra handling of the product was worth it. I like the assortment of colors. I like the smaller packet size attributes even though most of my pieces are quite large. I prefer to be able to use a couple packages completely waste of glue that dries between uses. I tried other companies' "Premix" grout, and they leave much to be desired nothing more than caulk.
Triangle craft finally arrived with a product which is easy to use, meets an artist needs and requirements provides easy cleaning.
