What is Free to Air Satellite & FTA? Is this a C-band or Ku-Band Satellite?
Satellite TV is perhaps the most common way watch television. There are a few programming providers such as DISH Network, DirecTV, Bell ExpressVu, and Sky Mexico, to name a few. The programming providers usually charge monthly programming to viewers to allow them to view channels that the provider has bought programming the right to broadcast on their satellite, using their own satellite receivers owners. Most use a standard 18-inch satellite dish and a circular LNB to receive the signal broadcast by satellite between 12.20GHz and 12.75GHz frequency. These satellites are not free to air.
Free To Air (FTA) is exactly what its name implies. It channels that broadcast without being interfered with or having any type of encryption. Usually, the TV pay for time satellite transponder and broadcasting the free viewer. There are about 75 satellites that can be retrieved from America North, which carry about 45 free channels. Channels range from network wild feeds from CNN, Fox News, ABC, NBC, CBS, BBC, and many others. Other channels are 24 hours of entertainment channels like Fashion TV, the television channels in Arabic, Persian | Persian TV, TV Vietnamese, Thai TV Supreme Master TV, TV-Korean Christian TV Spiritcast by Christian satellite TV, Aghapy TV, TV Russian, Afghani TV, TV Senegalese, Kurdish TV, Turkish TV, NTN television networks and the letter, much more ….
Free Air is released in both C-band and Ku band. The difference between the two is that, with Ku-band you can usually use a smaller than 120cm (1.2 meter) dish or less. With the C-band, to obtain the appropriate signal, you must use a 180cm (1.8 meter satellite dish | 6 feet) or more.
Many free to air satellite distributor s U.S. as WS International (www.wsidigital.com) sell Ku antenna parabolic band engines that you can use to pick up multiple satellite signals using a single satellite dish solution. The engine works by using the antenna is free to air satellite receiver sold by the distributor and no additional wiring necessary.
For most regions of the 30 United States inch satellite dishes as the Winegard DS-2076 is an excellent dish to get the signal of most broadcast satellites. In southern Florida and the northern State of Washington, WS9036 90cm satellite dish is needed.
