Impact Wrench
Jack up car remove wheel using impact wrench to remove lug nuts will entire wheel rotate or no, why?
Does part of the torque applied to the lug transfer to the wheel? Please explain.
An impact wrench applies a momentary and very rapidly increasing torque. It will loosen the lug but some of the torque will transfer to the wheel (due to lug friction against the rim) and rotate it a bit. Garage mechanics often don’t bother to pre-loosen the lugs before jacking because the wheel rotation is so small.
