70lb Heavy Bag or 80lb, which should I get?
I have a question for those with some knowledge with punching bags. I’m looking into purchasing a heavy bag. Big5 is running a sale on a 70lb with a kit. The kit Includes: Black Nevatear Bag, Leather Bag Gloves, Handwraps & Training Bag Holder.
They are also selling an 80lb Nevatear bag alone, without the kit.
They are both $59.99, I’d like to get the 70lb one because of all the extras,. But I’m not sure if the extra 10lbs of the heavier one would be better. I’m 6′ 220lbs which bag would be better for me?

The training bag holder is just the cord you tie to the bottom of the bag to keep it from moving.
I think I’ll go with your advice, and get the 70lb one. Since I probably will have to buy a heavier one in few months. I guess 10lbs isn’t very much.
Sorry I meant to say the heavy bag holder is the swivel to hold the bag not the stand itself.
Now when you say “training bag holder” do you mean heavy bag stand, or swivel? If you don’t have gloves and hand wraps and a bag stand already go for the kit. If the 70 pound one comes with a stand you should get that one. You are a big guy and are going to knock a 70 pound or 80 pound bag around pretty easily, and wouldn’t even notice a difference if you hit both. Get the 70 pound and in a like 6 months go up to 150 lb bag if you can afford it, and your stand can support it.
