Handles Polished
Thinking about nitrous for my bike. Has anyone had any experience with that. How did it work for you?
’02 Kaw ZRX1200R. I’ve already freed the exhaust (4 into 1 with straight-thru Muzzy’s) I’ve stage III’d the jets and restrictor plates. I’ve had the valves polished to handle the heat. And I’ve replaced the airbox with individual K&N stage IV air filters. It’s as fast as it’s gonna get without nitrous or forced air. So if anyone has any experience with bikes and nitrous, I’d love to hear how it worked out for you and if it was worth the investment.
I ran Nitro in my drag bike years ago. It decreased my time by almost a full second. However the scaring in the cylinder was real bad. The heat generated by nitro is a bit much for street use.
If I was going to do anything I would put a forced draft system in. It will still run hotter but not as hot as nitro. As for speed it should increase almost as much as nitro but you will be able to maintain the speed for a longer duration.
Either way you go I would get an engineer to design me a cooling scoop to draw the maximum air flow over the jugs. I also would put in an oil cooler.
