How do I”unstick” closed chuck jaws in cordless reversible DeWalt hammer drill?
Help. The jaws of my old DeWalt reversible cordless hammerdrill were tightened down to the minimum, and are now “frozen” deep in the chuck and gear drive assembly. Holding the chuck and running the motor doesn’t help. DeWalt’s web site is worthless: no service contact e-mail or phone, no specs, no service FAQ’s, just ads on who their dealers are! They don’t want to hear from you unless you’re buying something new!
I thing the bit is jammed against the clamp. I would use two strap wrenches to protect the chuck covering from damage. Two pairs of Channel lock pliers would do it also.
