Discount gas hot water heaters might sound so tempting at times, especially if you’re zeroing in on hot bargains. There’s no denying that you could really make big savings by buying cheaper equipments, but is it really worth the investment? Now, that’s the real question you really have to ask yourself before buying discount gas hot water heaters.
Brand new tankless gas water heaters – or on-demand gas water heaters – are quite an investment. The initial purchase cost could reach up to thousands of dollars without the installation fees (that’s just one unit we’re talking about). Normally, gas-powered water heaters are used to supply hot water to multiple household fixtures or for the whole house. And that could really require a lot of money. So, we can’t really blame if homeowners would go to the extent of considering discount gas hot water heating units just to get big savings.
Shipping cost is one of the issues of buying secondhand gas heaters online. While you might have gotten a big chunk off from the original price, you could still end up paying more for the shipping fees. If it’s possible, buy discount gas-powered water heating products from your local retailers or discount online shops closest to your area.
There are a few reasons why gas heaters are placed on sale. It could be that a particular brand is found ineffective (that could explain the slow sales) or the retailers just simply want to keep their inventory fresh. So, find out which is which by directly asking the retailer the reason for the sale. You could also look up the gas heater unit over the internet – read customer reviews or comments for complaints or recommendations.
Product warranties or guarantees are really not popular among discounted items – the same goes with gas-fired heaters. If you’re not satisfied with the quality of hot water the unit is producing, there is going to be a slim chance that the retailer or manufacturer would give you a replacement (on sale items are usually under the no return, no exchange policy). Besides, discounted units normally have limited stocks. So, by the time you want it for an exchange, all of the available stocks would have already been sold.
When searching online for cheap water heating units, always be extra careful with items labeled as “pre-owned” or “refurbished”. The previous owners are most likely reselling these because of some defects – it can range from a few dents and scratches, or the unit has some performance issues. You could also be facing the same issues with refurbished water heaters, which are fitted with new parts to look and work like brand new units.
On sale gas hot water heaters are not at all that bad. Some might actually give out quality performance and could last for years. But, of course, extra caution and research are still the best weapons to get the best discount gas hot water heaters out there.
