Pellet Stoves and Forced Air Furnaces
A wood pellet stove is a type of stove that uses forced air to burn compressed wooden pellets at very high heats. This type of energy is efficient and cheap, and it can actually be used to replace a furnace in a forced-air heating system. If you’re looking for a way to replace your own furnace, you can look into this type of system.
Basically, your furnace can be replaced by a more efficient and environmentally-friendly central heating pellet stove, which will produce the heat that your furnace would have produced. The whole system works in the same way as a normal forced-air system in that coils are warmed, warming the air, which is pushed through ducts into all the rooms of the house. In this way, the system keeps your home evenly warmed, so that you don’t have some hot areas and some areas on the periphery that are cold.
Just like gas and electric furnaces, central heating pellet stoves can click on and off in response to the temperature of the home. You can still set your heating system to a particular temperature, just like you would normally, and the fire will start and stop as necessary. This means that a pellet stove can keep your home warm even when you’re away from home overnight, as it can also hold enough pellets to burn for several days at a time.
While a central heating pellet stove can be a little more high-maintenance than an electric stove, some of them can hold several weeks’ worth of pellets, so you don’t have to refill it very often. Smaller stoves, though, will take refilling more often. This is one reason that it can be a good idea to have a large supply of pellets on hand, and it’s also a good idea to think about having a backup system tied into your central heating system.
The best part of this whole set-up is that a pellet-burning stove is that it can look really great. These days, you can find stoves that look like traditional wood-burning stoves, and there are brightly-colored, boxy, modernist-looking contraptions that would make a cheerful addition to any modern living room. You can set up a stove as part of your central heating in the middle of your home, and it will look great, while heating your entire home each day.
