Bathroom Bi-Fold to Conventional Door – Door stop?
We have removed a bi-fold bathroom door and have ordered a traditional door. However since speaking to an on-line retailer today, it has been suggested we may need a new frame too. We have an old 1930′s semi and would prefer to avoid removing the frame. We want to fit a door that opens into a small bathroom. The current frame (approx 78×30) inner lining may need some inserts cutting out, but the existing structure does not include a door stop i.e so the door closes against an edge on the landing side when door is shut – what do I need to seal the door like any other normal door into a proper frame stop? Is there something sold that can fixed securely into the inside of the frame to hold the door when it closes? Is there another name for it and where can I buy it in the UK? Many thanks for any useful advise to someone who does not practice much DIY
go to a hardware store in the trim area you will find what you need 1/2′ thick 3/4′ wide cut a piece for the top of the opening then the 2 sides shut your door to where you want it to stop mark the frame this mark will let you know where to nail the trim you cut nail with 11/4′ nails
