Filter Pads
do I need to rinse my new filter pad befor I use it?
I bought a new filter pad,and now my tank water is high in ammonia. What can I do now? I’m ready to add my fish now ,but my tank is high in ammonia,and nitrite.
You should always rinse the filter pad.
For that matter, you should always rinse anything before you put it in the tank. Gravel, decorations, plants, etc.
As for the high ammonia and nitrite in your tank,
you can always go to a pet store, such as Petco, and get Ammonia Clear and Nitrite Clear tablets.
They will not harm your fish and will correct it within 24 hours.
