How much higher is the cost of maintenance on a BMW vs. Ford / Chevy and Dodge?
I want a BMW as my first car, I can afford the car, insurance, taxes all that junk but what I DONT do, what are the costs of services? compared to a "regular" car how will they be higher.
BMWs are nice, but they were'nt designed to be an economy car. It seemed that the repairs even the most trivial cost is $ 1,000. Problem with idle? replace the control unit and actuator idlespeed $ 1,000. Replace brake pads? you need to replace the rotors (worn) $ 1,000. service indicator will not reset? $ 1,000 to replace the dashboard. parties (and mechanical) are mostly found only at the dealership. I am sure that the repairs would be more affordable, if you lived in Germany. They are durable, and probably fewer problems than average. But they will have problems dear, I think you'll find.
