How to transfer files from digital/video camera to a harddrive without using a computer?
I have a digital camera (Canon SD750) and a hard drive based video camera (Canon Vixia HF10). I would like to know if there’s a way to transfer files from these devices to a portable harddrive. I havent purchased a portable harddrive yet and would like to get some advice on the best harddrive that would help me accomplish this task. Mac user here.
Your Canon SD750 and Canon Vixia HF10 use SD memory cards. The easy solution is too look at one of the portable hard drives that specialize in backup of Flash memory cards. Nearly all of them also have a USB interface that will allow to connect them to most recent Mac computers.
I would suggest the Hyperdrive family of products, because they are very fast, they go soft on electrical power and they are cheap (because most of them do not include a photo display).
Several other products exist with a good display like the Epson line (Look at the Epson P-2000 for example).
