Demolition Hammer
What’s the best method to demolish a chimney?
I had a tall block built chimney that needed to be demolished and rebuilt. The builder started demolition using hand tools but made very little progress. The next day he used a heavy duty jack hammer and demolished the chimney. However, a fine hairline crack approx 12-15 feet which runs vertically down the side of the house and inline with the chimney appeared. It’s a two story house. My question is: is the use of heavy duty jack hammers to demolish chimneys the correct tool and procedure to use.
no its not. Its time consuming but the brick have to come out layer by layer, hammer and chisel or a low impact air chisel
