consume energy ambient motion sensor light switch?
I have a "Leviton Decora 180 degrees Manual w light sensor tracking / "wall switch for use in a closet. The model number is IPP15-1LW. The goal is automatically switch the unit off when the light is left on the closet by chance, to avoid wasting energy. However, same unit draws some power. Does anyone know the real power of this device, or those like him?
No, but I can give you a guess: somewhere between 100 and 500 milliwatts – certainly under 1W. Even if she did pull one watt in full, you should only use about 720 watt-hours per month, which is about three quarters of a kWh, costing about $ 0.07, so I would not worry.
