Getting Soaked? Your Short but Practical Buying Guide to Hot Tubs
In the market for a hot tub? You want a hot tubs but you don’t know where to start.
You could spend more money if you don’t know what to look or buy whe you want to build a hot tub and sometimes spa terminology can be a bit confusing.

Here is a simple buying guide to help you with the basics of the hot tub:
Size
Decide on the location of your hot tub and see how big the area is. If the room is already built, you will have to make sure that the hot tub will fit through the door of its intended area before buying it. Buying the biggest hot tub may not always be the best thing to do.
Consider its location, too. Is there a concrete slab available or will you have to build one? Can that area withstand the weight of the tub and the water once it’s filled? How many people will be sitting in the tub for a soak? Will it be comfortable enough?
The hot tub
Now that you’ve decided on its size, it’s time to choose your hot tub. The inner lining or shell is usually made of materials such as thermoplastic or acrylic to withstand the heat and weight of the water. Either material is a good choice.
Inner linings also come in different colors and finishes. You can choose from plain finished shells or simulated black marble hot tubs. If you prefer, you can also choose hot tubs made with ceramic tiles.
Check the controls that come with the hot tub. A remote-controlled tub is more convenient to use. Waterproof floating remote controls are excellent for making adjustments to the water temperature, lighting and the jet action. If you prefer, you can also choose hot tubs with built-in controls.
Before buying your hot tub, check the pumps, filter system and heater as well. The pump is responsible for water circulation. It also pushes the water through the filtration system and ensures that water temperature is even. Buy a hot tub with an efficient filtration system and make sure the heater is reliable as well.
If you prefer, buy one with an ozonator to help maintain the cleanliness of the water. If you buy one without an ozonator, your hot tub will still be efficient, provided you maintain a regular cleaning schedule and ensure that the filtration system is working properly.
There are also hot tubs that come with certain amenities such as lighting, exercise equipment, water misters and entertainment systems. They will be more expensive but they can enhance your hot tub experience significantly.
