How concerned should I be about obtaining security clearance with a handful of “youthful indiscretions”?
I need top secret security clearance for a position at a Navy shipyard and am concerned that my past will haunt me. I have a list of minor misdemeanor charges involving alcohol, a citation for marijuana possession, and a disorderly contact citation- all from 7-10 years ago and A DWI from 4 years ago…Do I stand a chance of obtaining clearance?
Most of all it depends on whether or not you were an adult when you committed these “youthful indiscretions”. If you were an adult they are on you record, and could keep you from the clearance.
