Cleaner Purifier
Will installing an air purifier reduce the amount of vacuuming needed?
I have two cats and some feather duvets. My doors and windows are almost always open. The house seems to be covered in dust, even after I vacuum. Cat fur and feathers fragments from the duvet cover surfaces right away. I really hate vacuuming, so I don’t do it as much as I should. I even bought a roomba so that it could clean while I was at work, but I don’t use it much because I still have to set up the room to be roomba-ed.
If I buy an air purifier, will it help make the house less dusty and furry and feathery between vacuuming sessions? Or does it just remove fine dust particles, pollutants, and pollens?
If you don’t keep the dust and dander off the floor, it will get in the air and make an unhealthy situation in the house. Keep in mind your pets are closer to the ground and they will be worse off than you. The air purifier will remove some of this from the air, but it now will need cleaning much more often. You will have two chores to do instead of one.
Better to find a reason to make yourself do the vacuuming, or hire someone to do it. Example, your longterm health, less likelihood to get alergies, increased health for your pets. Then you can get the air cleaner to improve the quality of air beyond the particle size that your vacuum picks up – if that is of interest. Don’t buy a tool for the wrong purpose, you will be disappointed with both results.
