What are the tools necessary to cut Tiger's Eye?
I have been carving stone for some time and have a good set of scissors and other tools, but have no experience with Tiger Eye and I have a few pearls that I have some stones laying around. What tools I need, how soft / hard is the rock, and what other things should I watch for? I am already aware of the problem grain, but is it something else?
Tiger Eye is actually a form of asbestos must be sculpted by abrasive means and better wet than inhalation of the harmful effects of dust, but inhalation of fine dust is not desirable. Preferable to use diamond bit mounted carving, grinding and refining the finer and finer abrasives and a final polishing with cloth buffs and compounds.
