Anti Scald
Where can I find a TUB ONLY (the bridge assembly / "Roman" style) valve with a valve-burn?
Construction of new homes, my plumbing inspector, insisted I get a bath faucet with built in anti-scald valve before I go. I can find a tub / shower units combo, and even ordinary tub spouts (horizontal mount) with anti scald protection, but nothing for a platform assembly. Have checked all local stores, even searched online, but no one tells them that the fight against scald. Where can I find one? I'm on a tight budget so nothing too fancy is required. The inspector is my intention to return to the plumbing 'boutique', but boutique-style sacred cow taps all start @ 4 bills! Again, this must be a deck mount, "Roman Bath" style. No shower at all. Help anyone?
There are balancing valves available that can be installed in line with the supply of water under the faucet. You run the water pipe in the balancing valve, then tap it from there. They must be accessible (one way or other). But if it's only a bath, you wonder how how you boil first.
