The importance of electrical safety
In electrical injuries, there are four main types of injuries: electrocution (Cause death), electric shock, burns and falls. These injuries can come from direct contact with electrical energy, arcs Power passes to a person who is grounded, thermal burns, including flash burns from heat generated by an electric arc, flame burns from materials ignited heating or ignition by electrical currents, and muscle contractions can cause a person to fall. The fall can also cause serious injury. High contact burns voltage can burn internal tissue while not leaving only very small injuries to the outside skin.
There are safeguard procedures that can be followed to ensure the electrical Safety:
1) Inspect the tools, power cords and electrical accessories for damage or wear before each use. Repair or replace damaged equipment immediately.
2) cords band still on the walls or floors if necessary. Nails and staples can damage cords causing a fire and shock hazards.
3) Use cords or equipment that are planned for the level of intensity or power you use.
4) Always use the correct size fuse. Replacing a fuse with a larger size can cause excessive current in the wiring and possibly a fire.
5) Be aware that unusually warm or hot items can be a sign that unsafe wiring conditions exists. Unplug all cords from these outlets and do not use until a qualified electrician has checked the wiring.
6) Always use ladders of wood or other non-conductive materials when working with or near electricity or power lines.
7) Place the halogen lights away from combustible materials, such as clothing or curtains. Halogen lamps can become very hot and can be a fire hazard.
Risk of electric shock is higher in areas that are wet or damp. Install Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters, known also as GFCIs, because they interrupt the electrical circuit before current sufficient to cause death or serious injury occurs.
9) Make sure the boxes making display are made of non-conductive materials.
10) Know where the breakers and boxes are in an emergency.
11) Label all circuit breakers and fuse boxes clearly. Each switch must be identified with certainty which output or equipment is for.
12) Do not take or strings that have highlighted the wiring or use power tools with guards removed. Not block access to circuit breakers or fuse boxes and do not touch a person or apparatus in the case of an electrical accident. Always unplug the first course.
A (GFCI) works by detecting any loss of electrical current in a circuit. When loss is detected, the GFCI turns electricity off before severe injuries or electrocution can occur. A painful shock can occur during the time takes for the circuit breaker to cut off the electricity, it is important to use the breaker as an additional measure of protection rather only to replace the safe work practices.
GFCI wall outlets can be installed instead of standard outlets to protect against electrocution, for just that outlet, or a series of outlets in the same branch. A GFCI circuit breaker can be installed on some circuit breaker panels power to protect an entire branch circuit. Plug-in GFCI can be plugged into a wall outlet where the equipment will be used and we commonly found in bathrooms. Another common use of GFCI is for pools and spas.
Test the GFCI months. First a light socket night "or the lamp in the GFCI protected outlet (the light should be activated), then press the test button on the breaker. If the GFCI is functioning properly, the light should go off. If not, have the GFCI replaced or repaired. Reset the circuit breaker to restore power. If the RESET button appears, but the light does not turn off the circuit breaker was wired wrong and does not protect against shocks to the wall outlet. Contact a qualified electrician to correct the wiring errors.

They can damage the insulation and cause a shock. Do not allow vehicles to pass over unprotected power cords. Cords should be placed in conduits or protected by placing planks alongside them. Check the cords and the daily bag and discard if worn or damaged. Keep cords clear tools in use.
Extension cords themselves can be dangerous. Suspend power cords over aisles or areas Working to eliminate tripping or falling. Do not tie power cords in tight knots, Knots can cause short circuits and shocks. Wrap cord or use a locking receptacle. Many circuit breakers are wired to twelve amp so do not connect multiple extension cords into one outlet.
Security power is simple. On electricity should be respected and care should be taken to prevent injuries. Security is more and safer designs each year, its up to you to use them properly. Be aware and be safe.
