How to clean natural linen please?
I just got a dress that is made from traditional (Alpine skiing) natural linen fairly coarse fabric in bulk, but sweet. How do I clean these fabrics please? Can I go out with a hand wash? Advice welcome!
Hopefully these tips will help. – Separate your clothes from fabrics with different contents and different colors. – Drop about 1 / 2 cup of baking soda in the washer with your laundry detergent. Baking soda will help keep your clothes bright. – Use a mild soap instead of detergent to remove stubborn stains or old. Use a gentle cycle on your washing machine. Add a little fabric softener when washing clothes to keep soft and reduce wrinkles. – Add conditioner in the final rinse cycle. This technique will make your clothes reflect more light and look shiny. – When you are finished washing, roll the item in a towel to remove moisture. Never twist the wet cloth. – Hang your clothes on the line outside to dry. white sheets, in particular, benefit from sun drying. – Press with a hot iron while the fabric is still slightly damp the best results.
